SERVICES PROVIDED

 

Phlebotomist/Nursing Assistant

The phlebotomist/Nursing Assistant offers support to the GPs and Practice Nurses in  assisting with taking routine blood tests. A Phlebotomy Service is at Kessingland surgery and Nurses will carry out this procedure as required at Wangford Surgery and Wrentham Surgery as required.  Please click on the Surgery you require to view surgery Times.

Maternity Advice

All partners at our surgeries offer maternity services, but the Doctors can no longer offer home deliveries.  The midwife for the Kessingland area holds weekly antenatal clinics at the surgery. For patients in the Wangford or Wrentham areas, she will arrange your antenatal care with you.  The midwives may offer a home delivery.  Please enquire about maternity services, if required, at your local surgery.

 

Minor Surgery

All partners are approved for minor surgery and will carry out a range of surgical procedures.

Child Developmental Assessment

All partners are qualified to carry out these checks.

Travel Clinic

For travel health advice and vaccinations, please arrange an appointment with a practice nurse.

 

Smoking Cessation Clinic

Help will be offered to stop smoking and referral to the above clinic.

 

Chronic Disease Management

We provide a service within the practice and district nurses to manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, ischaemic heart disease and hypertension.

Contraception

A range of contraceptive services are available, including the 'morning-after-pill'. Health advice also given for the treatment of Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

Counsellor

Weekly session (based at Wrentham).

D.I.A.L.

Dial have an outreach session at the surgery on the first Monday of the month from 1.30-4.30pm.  They offer free, impartial and confidential information and advice to Disabled people, carers and professionals working with disabled people – including advice and representation on all benefit issues.  Please contact the main office on 01502 – 511333 and make an appointment or call at one of the  Surgeries and our advisor will see you if she is free.

Mental Health Worker

Weekly sessions are held at Kessingland Surgery.  Patients are referred to this Service by their GP or by any other Health Care Professional.

HEALTH VISITING

The Health Visitor is available for children of the 0-5age group , and their families.  She is a Registered Nurse with special training and experience in child health and development, also health promotion.  The health visitor works as part of the primary health care team and is easily accessible - please contact the surgery.  The health visitor may also be contacted on the following number:01502 723206 .  If there is no replay, you may leave a message on the answering machine. 

Health Visiting - help can be offered with:

Babies and Children - Immunisation, behaviour/sleep, feeding, special needs, toilet training/bedwetting etc

Emotional Well being - Depression, unemployment, marital breakdown, domestic violence, stress, bereavement, chronic illness, childcare, local support networks etc

Staying Healthy and Living a Healthy Life -   Drug and alcohol abuse, woman's/ men's health, contraception and family planning, pre-conception advice, sexual health, pregnancy, poverty, housing, disability etc
